An Orange a Day……Dog From Hell
I was too quick to criticize Django for eating the oranges on his way back to handler, now Doggy is doing the same. He seems to love oranges, I knew he liked apples and strawberries but he’s developing this love for oranges that I don’t get, you would think the zest would be gross enough to keep them from eating them. My dream of him preparing my breakfast is slipping between his teeth, now I can’t trust him with oranges anymore.
I think he’s hitting the adolescence, he’s usually active but not restless, however, he decided yesterday was the day to take my patience to the limit. I took him early morning for a long walk, a session of orange eating, a swim and play date. He got home, ate, slept a little and the rest of the day was hell, literally. He did everything he wouldn’t normally, like peeing on the top of the stairs and let it all flow downstairs, seriously, couldn’t he just get a tattoo and a piercing?
In total I took him 5 times out, we would get to the park and he would sit to see the other dogs play, back home he would go crazy, run all over the place, grab all his toys and gather them under the stairs, drag his bed and blanket all over the apartment, drag his water bowl and bark, yeah bark, he would bark every single time I asked him to lay down, he would do it but reluctantly. For sure he was putting the positive reinforcement to the test. This morning he was back to normal, I hope he doesn’t destroy my place once I leave for work. If so I’ll let you know tomorrow how Doggy meat tastes.

We like oranges too. We understand Doggy.
Bella and DiDi
I used to eat strawberries when I was a puppy! But if anyone offers me any fruit now, I put on my offended expression.
What’s surprising is that those are sour oranges, I tried them and they are worse than lemon, but he seems to be ok with it.
LOL sounds like he is growing up.
Hmmm the temperamental outbursts of dogs and kids… I see definite similarities. One thing’s for sure, even if he hasn’t quite reached adolescence he’s left the baby and toddler years behind and is busy testing boundaries.
He’s driving me nuts now, he goes crazy and then settles down. He’s a teenager now.
