12Miles for Alpine Ibex
The third of our hikes was ment to be an easy one, it wasn’t on the guide nor in the internet, we asked the locals for a half decent trail with a minimum of signals and they recommended us that one.12Miles uphill, there where places that where for Ibex only, in this part of Spain after April you won’t see a single drop of water falling from the sky, trails are covered on dust, but that’s part of the fun.
Dogs surely enjoyed the hike, they kept playing and running all over the place and of course getting themselves as dirty as possible, it was like a competition between them to see who would be the dirtiest by the end of the trip.
Once we reached the little village of La Peña, Doggy jumped in the water and what was dust became mud and after him went Nerva.
Doggy stinks as never before, he’s in desperate need of a good bath with shampoo, water only doesn’t help much.

Doggy – that roll looks so satisfying, I bet you felt great after it
Doggy, you had exactly the right instinct – those humans and their lack of appreciation for a good, damp stinky dog!
ooooh Doggy you are so fabulous… and your nice friend Nerva too.
Doggy loves the fountains, doesn’t he!
There’s nothing wrong with the smell of damp dog – I’ve often heard my bipeds say there’s nothing quite like it!
Hay Doggie…yoo’s forgotten about us ???? I was only jokin about ya socks
xx
Mollie, we’ve been up the mountains with limited internet access, but now we are back home.
My socks were dirty that day but half as dirty as they were on Friday lol
I played with a Spanish water dog in the park the other day and she looked so much like Doggy! Mummy was giggling cos her humans was saying that her coat picks up every leaf, twig and bit of grass around…sounded very familiar!
Anyway, looks like you’ve both had a great time
It is really pretty there.
A dirty dog is a happy dog.
