Manly Needs Part 2
We men have needs, urges, I’ve talked about them in the past. Women have also needs but since I’m not one I cannot talk about it and since I’m only me I’ll talk about my needs as a man.
There’s something I cannot give up and that’s Tic Tacs. I like them too much. Cinnamon is my favorite flavor and it seems like it’s becoming harder and harder to get. Just like Cinnamon Altoids, they are disappearing. Some people didn’t even know they ever existed.
I gave up the hunt for Cinnamon Altoids, last time I was home I couldn’t find them. But I found Tic Tacs, I got me a box cuz that’s something Europe doesn’t know. Sure you can get orange, mint and some other flavors, but cinnamon never!
Once in awhile I receive a care bag with goodies, like strawberry Chapstick (really manly, yeah I heard you), Sweet Pea hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works (that’s the new definition of manly just in case you were wondering) and of course Tic Tacs, but last time I didn’t get cinnamon Tic Tacs but mint! Sacrilege I thought.
I asked for an explanation, even when it was a gift I have the right to bitch about it, after all it was MY gift.
Me: Where are my cinnamon Tic Tacs?
Other Person: Sorry, couldn’t find it
Me: What do you mean sorry couldn’t find it? You gotta be kidding me, those things are all over the place. Just tell me you forgot.
OP: No, I swear I went everywhere, Target, Duane Read, Walgreens, even gas stations, nothing.
Me: Liar!!! Don’t lie to me.
OP: I’m not, that’s why I sent you mint.
Me: You’ll pay for this, I swear! You already paid for it but you’ll pay again.
Apparently they discontinued that flavor. I should hunt down and kill Tic Tac’s CEO for such a brilliant move. However, today I received the pic below. I hope that good soul thinks of me and not only took the pic to give me hope but also decided to buy a couple (300 boxes) of them. It’d make me the happiest man alive.
Girl readers of this blog, are Tic Tacs part of your womanly needs? Or are they more complex?

Do remember cinnamon altoids – they were delish but tic tacs never did it for me
Altoids is way better no doubt, but since here’s no Altoids I gotta be happy with Tic Tacs.
I was curious when I read your post. It seems they were discontinued in 2010, but no one seems to know why. You can try Amazon for the Holiday Twist flavored ones, but be aware you need to buy them by the case (24 count).
I think my friend will have the kindness to send me at least 96 little boxes, which would last me a week.
I should write a letter or a million to Tic Tac and complain, ask them to remove any other flavor and bring back cinnamon, I could tell them I’m about to die, just to make some drama, don’t know.
I like Altoids peppermint!
They are simply delicious
I too was hooked on Altoids cinnamon…never had the cinnamon Tic Tacs though or I’m sure I would have adored them as well. I didn’t realize they were no longer available….I gave them up years ago for some unremembered reason. Hopefully your “benefactor” won’t let you down and even as I write this, several tons of Tic Tacs are on their way to your house!
Pam
I had to stop eating them when I moved here, I have withdrawals every now and then. My benefactor better send me some or he’ll be in trouble.
I like cinnamon too – or better my dad – but we can’t find neither the altoids or the chewing gum here …that’s not very progressive for europe… but maybe that’s the reason why they call it “the old world” ;o)
For some issues Europe is the older world.
If I get some I’ll send a little container your way.
Who knew cinnamon was so hard to find. I am more of a wintergreen Altoids fan, but then I discovered green tea mints at Trader Joe’s and there is no going back.
I gotta try those.
I’ve never tried cinnamon Tic Tacs! I usually like cinnamon but have switched to spearmint lately for a change.
Cinnamon is delicious, the smell is even better.
Bwah hahahaha. Now I know what to include with your cow. Sorry it’s taking me so long to get it wrapped up and sent but now maybe your package (mm-hmm, yes I just talked about your package) will become more interesting.
No need to that Marla, I’ll be happy with my little cow.
You are too nice.
xx
I like the mint ones.. Will look out for the cinnamon for you
xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Cinnamon is better, we nice people eat cinnamon.
Uh ya, way more complex. I personally need way more from bath and body than just hand sanitizer. And cinnamon candy……yuck. (sorry)
It’s ok, it’s matter of taste, but we agree on the sweet pea right?
cough candy the best yummy. Will look out for the tic tacs in UK when out shopping saturday and let you know if successful
That reminded me of Ricola, another candy that I like.
I’m a peppermint Altoids girl, myself. How about RedHots? Do they still have them? Weren’t they cinnamon? xoxoM
RedHots, Big Red, Hot Tamales….hmmmmm just lovely.
I’ve never tried the cinnamon ones, I don’t think we even had them here…hope you get your 300 boxes though!
I’ll be happy with 150
Orange Tic Tacs for life.
Amen! They have cherry in Brazil too
Whaaaaa?! Badass.
My boyfriend has his tic tc needs too.
Womanly needs? Chocolate. Dôh.
Good thing I’m not a woman, I don’t like chocolate, only the white one with raisins.
Those are disgusting! EW
Not a tictac fan. Cinnamon on the morning oatmeal. Fritos for me, thanks. Like the bag.
Ohh Flea, Fritos are just what a man needs too.
Maybe try these? http://www.amazon.com/Breathsavers-Cinnamon-Candy-24-count/dp/B000NMCSQY
Or cinnamon gum.
I don’t like bubble gum, it annoys me, I’m weird I guess.
I’m with you about the Tic-Tacs need … but it’s the white ones for me. Lighter green is my second choice. … and a treat for you.
I remember the one of the guy joggling tic tacs on his tongue (I tried it a couple of times, failed miserably).
I had a different video in mind, but saved it for one of my Monday posts.
I prefer the mint, Leo, but I do love the Hot Tamales and love cinnamon rolls! Where are you right now? Portugal?
I’m currently in Spain.
I lobe the BigRed and Hot Tamales are heaven too.
When it comes to candies no country in the world has more variety than the US.
Wow, Spain! Work related? Vacation? Having a good time? I hope you can get your cinnamon fix.
I came here about 3 years ago for a break, never left, got a job and although I always plan to leave next spring, next spring never comes. I now bitch about hw crappy things are in here, but I like it, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, I only miss the practicality of things back home. I gotta be happy with the kindness of my friends that keep sending me care bags and bring me care suitcases whenever they visit, but if they get it wrong I complain anyway, that’s what friends are for right?
I hear Spain is a wonderful place. You must like it if, you’ve stayed, like you said. I hear the people are warm, social, and know how to live, unlike us Americans. That’s nice of your friends to send your packages. Do people really take siestas? And eat dinner at 10:00 pm?
No luck buying them online?? I can usually come up with anything I need with enough online searching
Online they sell them like gold, and considering they were discontinued in 2010 those that are for sale are probably rotten.
We hope you are able to find them or a suitable replacement!
Me too, till then I’ll keep complaining.
I like altoids containers more than anything.
I’ll keep an eye out up here in Canada Land for Cinnamon Tic Tacs. We have all kinds of weird stuff left over from bygone eras…like payphones.
I still have one container in my drawer, from 2009 when I left the motherland.
Canada is a land of rarities, like the Canadian bacon which I love because is not bacon, is ham.
And to think I was trying to be manly by working out and leering at women.
Where are my tic tacs?!?
Leering while eating Tic Tacs is the key.
The Producer is really into tic tacs, but the white minty ones. She has them by her bed for when she coughs at night, she has them in the car, next to her desk, near the tv table, in her handbag – you get the picture? She has them everywhere!!
And I think you should write to the manufacturers too and while your at it ask why they never made liver flavours – I can’t stand mint!
Liver Tic Tacs, ewwwww
That would work on you 4 legged individuals, but I don’t think people would appreciate the liver breath.
Boycott Tic Tac ! Try cinammon red hots instead?
I’ll write a letter of 1000 to Tic Tac
simple pleasures Leo
Of course tic tacs are part of my womanly needs! To the point that people ask me what that rattling noise is coming from my bag/jacket/purse/shoe (you CAN fit them in your shoe). I’m a mint person though, easier to find.
I have a story involving me sneaking on someone and tic tacs, I should write a post about but, but maybe it’s too sexual lol
Tell it! Tell it!
Tic Tacs – are not on my list .. and don’t for fill anything for me. Do they have to be ???
My needs is more complex than that … shoes and handbags …
Shoes and handbags are expensive..complex needs indeed.
Not when shopping on ebay … post next week about it .. but Tic Tac’s a lot cheaper. *smile
Let me put the wife on the trail. You find the darndest things down here, bordering on Amish country. And yes, I used to love cinnamon Tic-Tacs a long time ago. Not sure why, just kinda forgot about the habit.
My most important need is also filthy and disgusting, by most people’s definition. A liberal supply of Three Stooges. And iced tea – approximately 140-weight. (Think “by the slice”.)
I love Cinnamon Altoids, find them everywhere. Keep a tin in my purse, a tin in my office and a tin in my car at all times. I don’t know what the issue is, Tic-Tacs could never even come close to replace Cinnamon Altoids.
If you are having a problem finding Cinnamon Altoids, I have just the solution buy direct:

Pingback: On a Monday Rattle « A Frank Angle
A Frank Angle blogged about your manly minty anguish. I’m not the type that chomps mints, but whenever my breath tastes rancid I take a swig of travel size mouthwash I always carry on my person. My favorite gum, Freedent, was discontinued several years back, but I recently saw it in the candy rack at my go-to drug store. I was elated. I nabbed a pack so quickly I almost broke the sound barrier, but something about it looked vintage-y to me. Sure enough, the expiration date was 2003. I put it back.
Your Cinnamon Altoids are also available in a 12-pack on Amazon so if you have a bud heading to Spain he or she can order those for you state-side. If they toss in something else that costs around nine clams, the shipping is free.
Altoids Curiously Strong Mints, Cinnamon, 1.76-Ounce Tins (Pack of 12)
Of course, the price of airfare might not be so cheap.
Totally loved those Holiday Twist Tic Tacs, but they were limited time and I can’t find anymore of them!! I swear I saw Cinnamon Altoids the other day though. If I see them again, I will buy them and send them to you!! lol
